Such a tough year and so happy it is behind me. I am excited and enthused about my future that is unwritten. Having enjoyed a week on the Cayman Islands ( thanks to Marcello Santi and 'the Cayman gang'), thr trip truly helped me to refocus and plan some goals, on and off the course. I am also looking forward to working with my new coach Mitchell Spearman and tweeking my swing to help me get to that next level. Exciting times ahead.

A lot of incredible 'life' things have happened to me this year, so although my golf seems to have taken a holiday, I know that it is only temporary. I am still focussed on my ambitions and am driven now more than ever in the game - a game I am so passionate about. I have learned a lot these passed few years - both to do with my swing and my mental approach to the game. We untangled my mental complications last week and now I am going to enjoy the challenge that lies ahead of me. Interesting times ahead .... Daniel

My incredible sponsor and very dear friend Ric Kayne dropped in for a visit on Saturday ... by seaplane in front of our lakehouse. Then took off again into the sunset. He really is someone who embraces life and is a pioneering inspiration on so many levels!! You make me happy and inspire me daily! Thanks for the visit Ric!

My Game

Very frustrated and perplexed at my momentum on the golf course. I am trying to stay patient and stay focused but it's been very hard this week in the desert. I generally have not had great finishes on the west coast swing but I eager to change this pattern. Things never stay the same so I have to trust that fact and know I have the game to win very soon.

Apart from my third round, I played solidly at Disney - my last PGA Tour event for 2009.
I know my results don't reflect how well I am hitting the ball so I am not completely disappointed with my year. It certainly has been a year of underachieving but patience will help me take this ball striking into 2010.
It has been a great year 2009, filled with great overseas events, incredible golf courses, great proam partners ... all because of the game that I love and that I am lucky enough to get paid to play, at least when I play it well!
