Turning Stone Resort Championship

I am flying out today to Turning Stone Resort for this weeks event. It has been a very tough year to date but I am not giving up and will always try and push ahead. Onwards and upwards as they say. I feel there is nothing wrong with my game, it has been a struggle to score, large numbers on certain holes have cost me momentum and cuts. Perhaps I have been too agressive at times but that has always been my game. Aggressive play and lack of confidence is never a good mix. But I still remain faithful to the game I love and of course to my family and close friends that have remained supportive of me at this time. You know who you are .... nothing ever stays the same and this rough patch will shift and no doubt I will be a better player for it. Daniel

I am feeling better this week, well today at least! After visiting yet another Doctor in San Diego - we may may just have this virus beat. It has been a very frustrating time for me. I hope to have a solid week here at my favourite tournament of the year. The weather has been amazing these past few days. I've enjoyed playing with my corporate sponsor Ric Kayne and I am looking forward to teeing it up with him this week for the event.
This isn't the way I would have chosen to start my year but I chose to honour my commitment to tournaments and try and play through my ill health. I thought I had it licked then suddenly it would surface yet again. I just couldn't bring myself to pull out.

I can't believe I have been ill for 6 weeks straight!! I am getting frustrated because all I want to do is play and play well but my body won't allow it! After spending Sunday in hospital on a drip I really made a fighting comeback. But just yesterday my head started spinning all over again and today I couldn't see a green let alone putt it! Scotty is on bag and his calmness and positivity is helping me keep it together. Grrrrhhhhhh.

I had the pleasure of hosting a golf clinic today for Kapalua Realty here in Maui. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I enjoyed sharing my passion and love of the game with people that were on the same wavelength as me. Thank you all for a great afternoon. It was great to see young Stephen my stand bearer for the 2008 win - such good memories. All the best, Daniel

What a way to head back to the office, teeing it up in Maui for the Mercedes Benz Championship to kick off my 2009 PGA Tour Season.
Busy schedule for the week but all fun in the sun on this incredible island. Gary Planos, Nancy Cross and staff here do a fantastic job, I am proud to be coming back as Defending Champion. I was lucky to play with Mr Palmer before I left - we actaully won the shoot out at Bay Hill together, great inspiration for the start of my year, an honour as always Mr Palmer!
