Poor start costs Daniel

New Delhi, March 11: Daniel’s return to New Delhi – the place where he grew up – proved to be a disappointing trip as he missed the halfway cut at the Hero Indian Open, jointly-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.

He carded rounds of 78 and 74 at the demanding DLF Golf and Country Club. However, there was plenty to be positive about as it was only his front nine on the opening day of the tournament that cost him. He went out in six-over, which made it difficult to recover from.

England’s Matt Wallace claimed the title after beating countryman Andrew Johnston, best known as “Beef”, on the first hole of a sudden-death play-off.
